Shaker Faces

We’ve all heard Gaz Regan say that the face you make when you shake is the face you make when you sexually climax. Now, I’m not sure if that’s true (let me know if you have evidence in the comments), but I do know that bartenders often make funny faces while shaking it up. So, Lush Life decided with the help of Combier to document as many shaker faces as we could across the US. What we found wasn’t all that surprising. Every bartender has a signature shake that almost always matches their personality.

For each bartender, we shot three pieces:

1. A still photograph of their Shaker Face (H. Joseph Erhmann from Elixir)

2. A video of the same bartender shaking and explaining their process (Joseph Brooke from The Edison)

3. A schematic of their shake (Neyah White from Nopa)
